About Associate Professor Phillip Braslins
A/Prof Braslins has been practicing as a consultant physician for more than 20 years. After passing his medical degree with honours in Newcastle in 1990, he trained to be a medical (infectious diseases) specialist in Sydney, Townsville, and Boston (USA). While at Boston he completed his PhD in public health (sexual health) and was Assistant Professor at Boston University.
A/Prof Braslins has been recognised with awards for his clinical excellence, research skills, and for providing quality education to doctors, medical students, nurses and other allied health professionals. He has formerly held the positions of Clinical Dean Tablelands Clinical School, School of Rural Medicine, Armidale and Director of Medicine, South East Regional Hospital, Bega.
A/Prof Braslins has a long history of providing services to patients who live in regional Australia and continues to provide services to these patients through his clinics in Toowoomba (Riga Medical) and more recently in Deakin, Canberra.
